Whiskey Barbecue Sauce
Preparation time: 15 minutes. Makes 2 cups.
Ingredients:
3 ounces cooked, crumbled bacon
1 1/2 cups of ketchup
1/4 cup molasses
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons whiskey (maybe a "touch" more
)
2 tablespoons brewed coffee
1 teaspoon dry mustard (I prefer Coleman’s)
1 teaspoon Tabasco
Instructions
Combine all ingredients and simmer in a sauce pan for 30-35 minutes uncovered

Barbecue Sauce Recipe
Preparation time: 10-12 minutes. Makes one quart.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon butter
3 cups of tomato puree
2 tablespoons Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons A-1 Sauce
2 tablespoons Heinz 57 Sauce
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 1/2 tablespoons honey
2 1/4 teaspoons liquid smoke
2 1/4 teaspoons red wine vinegar
Cayenne to taste (optional – start with 1 teaspoon)
Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions:
Heat a large sauté pan or sauce pan over low heat
Add butter and onions and cook until the onions are soft
Add all other ingredients, turn heat up to medium-low and bring to a boil
Turn heat down to low and simmer sauce for 20 minutes, until flavors blend
Remove from heat, taste and correct seasoning
Store in refrigerator uncovered until cool and then cover or use immediately
To thin sauce, use any of the following: water, beef or chicken stock, white or cider vinegar, apple juice, wine or beer.
To thicken sauce, mix 1/4 cup cold water or other liquid (above) with 2 tablespoons cornstarch and add to sauce a little at a time until you have achieved the correct consistency.
can anyone tell me a good way to make chicken wings without using barbeque sauce? any good way to flavor them or batter them?
3T Louisiana style hot sauce
1/2t Paprika
1/4t Ground Red Pepper (try other ground peppers for Hot/Mild)
1# Chicken
1/2c Blue Cheese Dressing
1/4c Sour Cream (we use reduced fat)
2T Crumbled Blue Cheese
Combine Sauce, Paprika, and Red Pepper and apply to chicken. Bake covered at 375 for 30 minutes. Remove cover and bake another 15 minutes. Combine remaining ingrediance for dipping. We also dip veggies after we run out of chicken (green/red bell peppers or celery).

Chipotle Mango Barbeque Sauce
1 teaspoon pureed chipotle chiles
1 (14 ounce) bottle ketchup
1/2 cup water
2 teaspoons molasses
2 teaspoons creole mustard or whole grain mustard
2 teaspoons chopped garlic
1/4 cup onions, chopped
2 tablespoons firmly packed light brown sugar
1 dash hot pepper sauce
1 dash Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons peeled and grated fresh ginger
1 pinch black pepper
1/2-2/3 cup diced mangoes
In a food processor fitted with a metal blade, combine ALl ingredients EXCEPT MANGO.
Process until smooth, about 15 seconds.
Scrape down sides with a rubber spatula.
Pulse 2 or 3 times.
Fold in diced mango and refrigerate overnight before using.
Taste great over pork.
